This past week marked a very important milestone for RaceNetwork, with the official real-world track debut of XPerformance technology.
As mentioned in the previous news regarding the algorithm, XPerformance is an innovative project curated by the RaceNetwork team, which exploits machine learning and blockchain technologies to collect numerous data from our customers' simulator sessions and transform them into valuable data useful for predicting set-up scenarios in qualifying and in the race.
During the free practice sessions of the 12H of Mugello 2020, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo 2020 of the CP Racing team tested the software's functionality "in preview", comparing the data collected by the car's telemeters with those generated by XPerformance's Artificial Intelligence.
The in-depth study and comparison of the data were essential to judging as positive the first official test of this project, defined as "interesting" and "with great potential for development" by the team itself.
The icing on the cake of this positive first outing was certainly the result of the day after the tests, which saw the car in question take Pole Position with a 2.6 second lead over its direct competitors in the GT3 category.
It's too early to say how much the XPerformance project has influenced this result, but it's certainly a more than encouraging start. The development of the technology continues unabated towards the goal of launching a "beta" version on the market available to the public, scheduled, as of today, for January 2021.
